Jack T. Clark Foundation

Did you know that a third of all cancer patients receiving treatment develop significant oral complications some of which cause them to suspend their care?

The Jack T. Clark Foundation vision is to strive to ease the suffering from oral conditions related to cancer and cancer therapy. We aim to spread awareness and to increase the available resources on oral health for cancer patients. Since its inception, the Jack T. Clark Foundation has performed 3,500 oral cancer screenings, distributed educational information to 250,000 people, and held 640 hours of classroom and hands-on training about oral cancer, and oral complications for dental professionals. We also partnered with MD Anderson to launch a statewide survey of dental professionals to examine the existing attitudes, beliefs and behaviors related to the oral health care of cancer patients.

Continued support will help us to grow our current awareness initiatives and also reach our future goals:
  • Develop an online virtual clinic for patients, dentists and doctors to reference
  • Building a network of dentists, hygienists and assistants skilled in providing oral care for cancer patients
  • Continue to produce various programs, screenings and trainings that help to educate dental professionals and patients on the importance of maintaining good oral health before, during and after cancer therapy.

Fortunately, with the proper education and resources for dentists and patients, we can help to alleviate unnecessary pain and complications. By donating to the Jack T. Clark Foundation you are helping us to reach our goal of lessening the burden on cancer patients. Being diagnosed with cancer is enough to deal with, so help us make it a little easier.
